! Evelyn Thaw is to Marry Aain. Huleltfh Evening Timet. New York, March 12 It was re ported today on seemingly good au thority that as Boon as Evelyn Neibit Thaw succeeds in securing her freedom from Harry K, Thaw, she will immediately marry again and go west to spend the remainder of her days. The successful suitor for her hand is said to be a wealthy western pro fessioul man. When Daniel O'lteilly, of her counsel, was asked regarding the rumor, he said: 1 have heard nothing of it. Of course she is young and has a great deal to look forward to." The young millionaire's lawyers met today to frame an answer to his wife's suit. At the same time subpoena servers went to Mat teawan with two copies of the com plaint in the action one to be ser ved on the defendant and the other on the superintendent of the as ylum. Evelyn's admission that she has grounds for the annulment other than insanity at the time of her marriage, has added mystery as well as interest to the case. Hints were dropped by those in terested in the welfare of the young woman which pointed to discoveries she had made after her husband had been locked up iu prison. Be careful about that little cough. Get something right away; some good, reliable remedy that will move the bowels. Kennedy's Laxative Cough Syrup acts gently yet prompt ly on the bowels and allays inflam mation at the same time. Text of th Lesson, a Comprehensive Quarterly Review Golden Text, John 1-4 Commentary Prepared by Rev. D. M. Stearna. tCopyrlpM. 1907. by American Pres. AssooU'.lon. Lesson I. The Word made flesh (John I, 1-18). Golden Test John I. 14. -The Word wns made flesh and dwelt nnsong us." The Golden Text for the quarter su.-'sosis a summnry of all the lessons and also of the whole gospel, life In Christ and no life apart from film. The Creator of all things became oue of us, a sou of man. equal with man, sin excepted, that we sinful sons of men uilght receive Him and thus be come sons of God. In niia was the truth concerning what God wants us to he and also the grace to mate us such. Lesson II. Jesus and John the Bap tist (John I. 10-34). Golden Text. John i, 20, "Behold the Lamb of God. which taketh away the sin of the world!" We are as utterly unable to became anything but sinful sons of men. as was Adam and Eve. after they sinned, to return to God and to holiness, but by the shedding of blood the Lord re deemed them: by the blood of the Puss over lamb He saved Israel, and only by the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, can our sins be put away and we become sons of God. ' Lessor III. Jesus and His first dis ciples (John 1. 30-51). Golden Text. John I, 45. "We have found Uim of whom Moses la the law and the proph efc wrote, Jesus of Nazareth." When we become sons of God It Is that we may walk as such, ever beholding Him the Lamb of God In the midst of the throue. When we truly see Him we cannot refrain from bringing others to Him, that they also may know Illra and follow Him. Lesson IV. Jesus cleanses the tem ple (John II. 13-22). Golden Text. Ps. xciii. 5, "Holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, forever." He does not ask us to follow Him here, In lowliuess and suffering, without pointing us to ths kingdom, the resurrection, the marriage of the Lamb (1, 51; ii. ML 10-21). for He would have us clean and holy, and nothing purlfiea and weans from pres ent things like that blessed assurance. "We shall be like Him (I John ilL 1-3). Lesson V. Jesus the Savloar of the world (John III. 1-21). Golden Text. John iil, 1G, "For God go loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." However good a man may be religiously or morally, he cannot enter nor even 9ee the kingdom of God un less he has Feen Jesus lifted upon the cross for him, bis substitute, his sin bearer, and thus been bom from above by tin; spirit and the word of God. Lesson VI. Jesus and the woman of Samaria (John lv. 1-42). Golden Text John vll. 37. "If sny man thirst let him come unto me and drink." No sin ner Is too vile to be born again sod thus enter this kingdom: even snch as the woman of Samaria may coma Note how great sinners were some of the Corinthians whe canae snd were by the blood of the Lamb washed and sanctified and. Justified (I Cor. L 9-1 a Lessor VI L Jesus beals the noble man's son (John It, 43-54). Golden Text. John It. 50.. "The ma believed the- word that Jesus bad spoken unto him, and he went his way." The bodies as well as the souls of believers shall In due time know the power of the Lamb of God at the resurrection of the Just But even now In these mor tal bodies many are seeing foretastes of resurrection life. It all comes ac cording to John xl, 40; Rom. xr. 13. Lesson VIIL-Jesus at the pool of Betbesda (John t, MS). Golden Text Matt. TllL 17. "Himself took our Infirm Ities and bare our sicknesses." The last lesson was a cose of sickness ap parently unto death. This Is one of pro longed infirmity, with no hope of de liverance and seemingly no approach ing deliverance by desth. The only hope seemed to be In the pool, but that was an Impossibility to this man. The Hope of Isrsel, the Fountain of Life, drew near, snd In a moment by a word the men Is whole (Jer. II 13; xlv. 8i. Lesson IX. Jesus feeds the five thousand (John vl, 1-21). Oolden Text Ia. xl. li, "ne shall feed Ills flock like a shepherd." The seemingly lm possible Is all easy to Him wbo created heaven and earth, and when we know Him we neither fear mountains of dlf Acuity nor despise small things, nor do we make suggestions as to how things may possibly be accomplished. Rather do we say. "We have no might neither know we what to do, but our eves are unto Thee" (II Chron. xx. 12). . ' Lebson X. Jesus, the Bread of Life (John TL 22-61). Oolden Text John vi. 35. "Jesus eald onto them. I am the Broad of Llf e.M Be Is bread from hea v. en and water clear as crystal and pure milk and strong meat and honey from the rock and wine of the kingdom, ne so satisfies that once we have tasted we want no other. The Father who sent Him was all to Him. and He who sends us desires te be aH to ns (rl. 57). Lesson XlWesus beats i man born blind (John it, 1-12V 01 den Text John ix, S, '1 am the Light of the World." Consider the four great words, life. light, lore and bellere. and that by the last one Jesus becomes the oth er three to na We are all born blind to the things of, God, and It Is the darn's work to keep us so, but the en trance of HJs word giveth light; In Bla Utfit we see light And then n naoa n. to enlighten others.
